what are some good essential oil recipes for laundry soap?
I am looking to combine lavender and eucalyptus but I’m not sure how much of each.
Also lavender with some citrus, I have lemon, orange, bergmont, but again not sure how to blend them.
In the end the soap will be used for launder detergent. Any suggestion?
Combine it to your liking. if you are looking to sell it, after you mix it to where you love the smell, ask a couple of other people if they like it also.
Does aroma therapy stuff really work?
if yes, how?
Yes it does and it is one of Natures treasures..God’s medicine chest. When inhaled or absorbed through the skin, the tiny molecules trigger the brain to release any number of chemicals to stop pain, calm the nerves, help to go to sleep, open sinuses and lung passages and dozens more. Externally it helps soothe arthritis pain, heal all types of skin conditions, stop a migraine attack and likewise lots more.
Can I made a bath bomb by mixing rose and lavender scents?
It is my first time making a bath bomb, and I want to have a really good scent. I would like to use lavender to moisturize my skin, and I just love rose scents. So is it ok to mix the two (will they cover up each other’s scents) or should I make two seperate batches, using the scents seperately?
Make them both at once, one at a time so ull have 3 kinds…
Basic Bath Bomb Recipe
Gather your ingredients:
• 1 part citric acid
• 2 parts baking soda
• Witch hazel
• Coloring of your choice
• Fragrance oil of your choice
• Dome Shaped Mold
BLEND BLEND BLEND BLEND the citric acid and baking soda – this step is super important – if you don’t blend well, you end up with a grainy bomb. We actually use a mixer on our larger batches.
Once you’ve blended really well, add your colorant. Dry pigments or a specialty bath fizzy colorant like La Bombes work best – don’t add too much though – the color shows up once you add the witch hazel.
Add fragrance oils to your personal nose preference.
Now, this is the difficult part. Spritz (with a squirt bottle) the witch hazel onto your batch while stirring with the other hand. When your batch sticks together when squished, you need to start putting it in molds – time is of the essence. If you wait too long, the mixture will get hard. If you spritz too much, the mixture will be too wet and “grow” (start the fizzing reaction) on you.
Put the bombs in molds – wait a few minutes and tap them out. Let them air dry for 3 or 4 hours and voila! Wonderful, hard bath bombs. The harder you pack the bath bombs, the more dense, heavy, and durable bomb you will get.
Is lavender or camomile harmful while pregnant?
It is one of these little sachet things you heat up in the microwave like a hot water bottle then put it in a cuddly toy, my back is killing me in work and I really want to use it but I know some of these scents can cause miscarriage (I am 16 weeks now) anyone know?
Those are both completely harmless.
Is lavender oil good for scars?
I have just had an op and have been advised by a friend to rub lavender oil on the scar.Does this really work?
The steri strips are off so the wound is healing. Just not sure what to do to help. I will try Vit E oil too. Thanks guys
Mainly in the latter stages of the healing process as it has antiseptic and healing properties. To reduce the appearance of scars you need to massage pure vitamin E wheatgerm oil regularly as this will fade it.
Are there certain types of plants you can benefit from growing?
I know that lavender is supposed to have calming qualities, but what other plants can induce relaxation, relieve headaches, wake you up, etc.?
Anyone have a certain remedy or recommendation for using or growing these at home?
Any
They purify the air, and give you a relaxing feel to your home.
Aloevera plants have aloe in them which is good for the skin.
Get a pot, some dirt, plant it, put it infront of the window.
Get some mircacle grow, give it a couple drops 1 a month or so.
Water it once a week.
Christmas gift ideas for my mother in law??
Ok, so I have an immense amount of respect for my mother in law. She is seriously the most awesome and compassionate person on earth. I’d really like to get her a meaningful Christmas gift, but I am totally lost. I have no idea what to get her. I don’t want to get her something very big, because her house is so cluttered with useless stuff anyway. I’ve gotten her a bath set for the past two Christmases, so I don’t wanna get her another one of those, Lavender is her favorite scent by the way. And she also doesn’t really wear jewelry. That leaves me with pretty much nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?? Thanks to all that answer.
Sounds like materialistic items may be out of the question unless she can use the items once and it gets thrown out. If she likes fancy candles or incenses, there are great decorative sets available.
Another route you may want to go is a gift certificate to her favorite store or restaurant. If she has a hobby or a specific activity she likes to do, get her a certificate for her hobby.
My mother in law loves Bingo, the dog tracks, gardening, and camping. She loves boxer doggies and I usually go one of these routes and get a little creative. She also collects the US State Quarters and unique coins. Hopefully this will give you some ideas.
I would encourage you to try looking on E-Bay, second hand shops and yard sales. I’ve found some really unique items that my in-law LOVE!!!
Can lavender be sucessfully grown inside my house?
If I give it lots of sunlight (the office room gets really sunny) and put it in the right soil and stuff, or should it be grown outside? I really want a lavender plant but I want it to go right and I don’t want to hurt it. Advice?
Lavender will do fine indoors as long as you put it in that bright, sunny spot. They are sun-lovers.
