Tips for making soap for the first time?
I went and got the "Candle and Soap making guide for dummies." and I would like to try soap making. I plan to use the step that has uses no lye. What I would like to do is add the base with lavender aromatherapy and then swirling purple dye in the white.
Tips from your expersinces would be nice.
Thanks
You can pour around 1/3 of your base into a separate container and add the purple soap colourant to that.
Add your essential oil to both (should be no more than 2% of the amount of soap base you are using).
As your soap begins to slightly cool, a thin skin will begin to form. At this point, scrape off the skin and pour the white base into your mold and immediately drizzle the purple in on top of it.
Hope this helps & good luck!
How do i use lavender oil for my hair growth?
im not sure how to apply it to my hair.
Well for one, don’t apply it straight from the bottle. You have to use a carrier oil such as almond, olive, soy, coconut, etc. Just a few drops will do and mix well. Then you can probably apply on the scalp, leave it on for an hour and shampoo as normal. If your hair is naturally dry, you can leave it on your scalp.
Where can l buy Lavender sachets?
Here you go:

Or, if you’d rather not buy online, I’m sure Bed, Bath, & Beyond carries Lavender Sachets.

looking for a home remedy or non-pesticide product for fleas?
i recently noticed my dogs has fleas. it is not a major case of them (i have only seen maybe 4 or 5 on him) and the house is not infested. the only place i am finding them is on him but i want to get it treated asap before it gets worse. ASIDE FROM A BATH, i am looking for either a home remedy or a product that is safe and does not contain pesticides. i do not want to try the garlic method. i know it has worked for many people but i am still not comfortable feeding my dog garlic so that route is out for me.
so i am curious if anyone here has tried a home remedy or pesticide-free product and seen results. do flea combs work? what about a spray combo of water/lavender oil/cedar wood oil? i also read that avon skin-so-soft can be combined with water and used as a spray…?
The house is infested, but you may be at the beginning of the infestation. If you’ve seen 4-5, there are 40 or 50 in the house: fleas only spend about 10% of their time on the dog. The rest of the time they spend in your carpeting and your couch and your mattress.
There are no home remedies that will kill fleas. All the natural ones, like the ones you cite, are simply repellents, and [a] they don’t work well, and [b] it’s too late for that for you, this time.
Flea combs work, but they only catch the fleas on the dog. What you need is a systemic response. Flea spray for the dog. The appropriate companion product (same company, parallel formula) for the yard, and the companion foggers to clear the house. Don’t forget one for the car. Make sure the formula is water-based and contains an Insect Growth Regulator. Most large pet shops carry these from several companies.
Good luck.
I need help with my christmas wishlist (serious answers only please)?
I’m not spoiled and i’m not selfish…lets get that straight….I work very hard and get good grades for christmas this year what i want is

northface jacket
gift cards(from family)
uggs
lavender skinny jeans
I dont think my parents will buy me more than 2 things on that list uggs and possibly unlimited, do you think it is to much (don’t be rude) and how much do you/would you spend on a 13 year old (and i really need some clothes im growing really fast) and please dont be mean about it or else you’ll be acting just like…the scrooge….i don’t want rude or mean answers thank you to all that are nice and have a very merry christmas
That sounds like a lot! I’ve always gotten good grades and my parents never rewarded me for it. Get the phone and some cash, then you could just buy the stuff on ebay or craigslist for a lot less.
Can I Harvest Saffron?
I have fall-blooming lavender crocus in my garden. I don’t know the variety, they were a gift from a friend. Can I harvest saffron from them safely?
The Saffron Crocus is a special variety. They are available from Nichol’s Garden Nursery in Albany Oregon. You can harvest from your Crocus, it will not harm you but you may be disappointed in both the coloring and flavor.
Is it safe for dogs to regularly eat lavender leaves?
I was wondering because there is a hyperactive dog I would like to try feeding lavender to so she would calm down. If it is safe, would it work as a calmer? She is a slender yellow lab; how much lavender would be best for her size?
She is a full-grown adult dog, about two years or so. I am aware that labs are hyper dogs; this dog also gets plenty of excercise so that is not the problem.
lavender doesn’t work. lab pups are just really hyper dogs. they’ll calm down when they are 1. If your dog doesn’t improve, send her to the trainer, or train her youself. bballgrl, if you don’t know what the asker is talking about, don’t answer the question.
